Areas of Practice & Law

The majority (if not all) legal teams across the GLS will have some contact with wide-ranging areas of law, for example freedom of information, data protection, employment legislation, human rights and the impact of EC law. Certain Government Departments take the lead in these specialised areas of legal policy and practice, for example MoJ is the lead Department for freedom of information and human rights; TSol European Division takes the lead on co-ordinating European questions across Government and leading on litigation in the ECJ.

For particular areas of law or legal practice which may interest you please go to the individual Department information page, for a fuller description of the work of the Department, which, naturally, impacts on the work of the legal team.
