Home > About the GLS > Prosecution Prosecution While the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) handles most criminal prosecutions, it does not have a monopoly. A number of Government Departments, including the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, Department for Work & Pensions, Defra, the Serious Fraud Office, Revenue and Customs Prosecutions Office and the Health and Safety Executive – which are all part of the GLS - also employ prosecuting lawyers. |
