Sensible working hours are also a much-valued element of life in the Civil Service. Standard hours (exclusive of lunch breaks) are 36 a week within London, and 37 outside London.

Start times clearly need to be agreed with your employer, and will be partly determined by business need - but you may well be able to take advantage of flexible working hours.
