Welcome to the Government Legal Service’s
legal trainee recruitment pages.
Each year, the GLS recruits approximately 20 - 30 legal trainees who wish
to train and qualify as solicitors and barristers. To find out more about
our training contracts and pupillages, the work of our trainees or our
recruitment process, please use the links on the left hand side of this
page.
The GLS generally recruits legal trainees 2 years in advance. The positions
being offered this year are primarily aimed at those who will be in a
position to commence their training contract/pupillage in 2012. There
is a very slight possibility of a successful candidate being able to commence
their training earlier.
Please note that the 2010 GLS Legal Trainee competition has now closed
and applications are being processed. Thank you for your interest in this
