Welcome to the Government Legal Service’s
graduate recruitment website.
Allow us to introduce ourselves. With approximately 2000 lawyers in over
32 central government departments and agencies, the Government Legal Service
(GLS) is one of the largest legal organisations in the country.
Like any legal organisation, we provide our client with legal advice and
represent it in court where necessary. When you consider that our client
is the government of the day, you won’t be surprised to learn that
our lawyers’ work is extremely varied, high profile and often politically
sensitive.
Each year, the GLS recruits approximately 25-30 graduates who wish to
train and qualify as solicitors and barristers. To find out more about

2010 Vacation Placement Scheme
The 2010 Vacation Placement Scheme (VPS) application process will open
on the 18th January 2010. The deadline date will be 1st February.
